STUDENT ESSAY CONTEST

TOPIC:

Using research and data, write an essay describing your vision about how your community and its resources can help in creating a partnership between your region or city -specific project and a Chicago-based chamber of commerce.

CONTEST RULES:

DEADLINE: All essays must be submitted by October 11th, 2010. Entries will not be accepted after this time.
• Submissions must be from students age 16 and older.

• Essays submitted for consideration must be original work and must be prepared by one author only.
• Only ONE submission per person.


ESSAY REQUIREMENTS:

• Essay must not exceed 1,000 words in length.  • Entries may be in English or native language.
• Essay must be double-spaced and no smaller than 12pt font.
• Each page must be numbered.
• References should be cited as endnotes and do not count towards 1,000-word limit.

• Do NOT put your name on the essay. Your name should only be on the online registration form.
• Documents should be written in Microsoft Word, Text or PDF.
• Entrants will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submission
.

 

EVALUATION:

• Submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by AmSecc’s International Committee. Finalists will be recommended to and the winner will be chosen by AmSecc’s board members.

 

PRIZE:

1st prize: $200

Winner will be notified by November 1st, 2010. In addition to the monetary prize the winning essay will also be posted on www.amsecc.org and announced via email to subscribers of the website. The winning student’s school will also be notified.
