American Southeast Europe Chamber of Commerce (AmSECC) was proud to partner with Baker & McKenzie to host a groundbreaking event - “Business and Investment Opportunities in Southeast Europe”, on Wednesday, April 14th, 2010. Representatives from seven Southeast European countries discussed business and investment opportunities in the region relative to their countries.

Ms. Violetta P. Kunze, Partner, Djingov, Gouginski, Kyutchukov & Velichkov, Sofia,
Bulgaria.
Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Philip Suse, Baker & McKenzie’s Chicago office’s managing partner; Ms. Mary Roberts, Acting Deputy Director for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Office of Trade and Investment; Mr. Scott Leonard, AmSECC. Mr. Arthur L. George, Partner, Baker & McKenzie moderated the event attended by one hundred individuals.
This pioneering event presented American companies and investors with current data on Southeast Europe’s surpassingly favorable investment climate. World Bank's ranking of 183 World Economies shows that countries of Southeast Europe have a better aggregate ranking than emerging markets of Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC countries).
