Alteya is a family-owned company based in the heart of the Bulgarian Rose Valley with sales offices and distributors in Bulgaria, USA, Hong Kong, Italy and Taiwan. Its U.S. sales office is based in Chicago, IL.

Owner, Nikolay Kolev, says of the company’s mission, “We are dedicated to growing world's most fragrant oil-yielding Rose, the Bulgarian Rosa Damascena, as well as distilling and offering our customers the finest-quality Bulgarian Rose Oils and Bulgarian Rose Waters.” Also integral to Alteya’s mission is its commitment to grow a business that “brings the best of nature to its customers and at the same time promotes employment and support to the local population in some of the poorest villages in the Rose Valley and the Balkan Mountain regions in Bulgaria.”

In addition to Roses, Alteya is also proud to grow, produce, and offer fine quality steam-distilled Bulgarian Lavender Oils and Lavender Waters.

Alteya is unique in the Organic Skin Care industry with its own vertically-integrated model, which allows it to grow its own ingredients and bring quality-certified natural and organic products directly to customers. Such products were unavailable outside Bulgaria until now.

The company’s history dates back to 1999, when Alteya began growing roses to produce Bulgarian Rose Oil. A few years later, it introduced its first Skin Care consumer products based on the Bulgarian Rose and Lavender. In 2007, Alteya achieved Organic Certification through the USDA NOP.
